Do you want to study the Superior Degree of Music?
To be admitted to a higher degree, specific tests exams must be passed by specialty and itinerary. The instructions for carrying out the tests at the CSM Galicia are as follows:
1. The specific tests will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of Decree 163/2015, of October 29 (DOG of November 16) for all specialties except for Management, which will be carried out in accordance to what is established in article 5 of Decree 171/2016, of November 24 (DOG of December 12); of course, always in accordance with the provisions of articles 3, 4, 5, 8 and 9 of the Order of November 21, 2016, which regulates the organization of higher artistic education in Music (DOG of December 1) .
2. Registration to participate in the tests of the September call will be made through a form, on this same page, until August 30, 2022.
3. The access tests will take place at the CSM Galicia (Lugar de Ferreirós, 1 A; Cordeiro – 36647 Valga; Pontevedra province).

What can you study at CSM Galicia?
Composition Specialty
- Part A: in the realization of a harmonic-contrapuntal work.
- Part B: in the presentation and oral defense of works and works carried out by the candidate.
- Part C: in the interpretation on the main instrument (or voice, in the case of singing), up to fifteen minutes, of the works determined by the court from a list previously presented by the candidate.
Management Specialty
The test will consist of:
- Part A: in the interpretation of a program of up to twenty minutes, in the main instrument or voice (in the case of singing) composed of works of a difficulty appropriate to the level of access to these studies.
- Part B: in the analysis of an orchestral or choral work at the proposal of the court.
- Part C: in the reading at first sight on the piano of a musical fragment chosen by the applicant from among two proposed by the court.
- Part D: in the realization of a dictation in four voices, between eight and twelve bars long.
Interpretation Specialty
The test will consist (except for the jazz itinerary):
- Part A: in the interpretation of a program of up to thirty minutes, made up of works and/or studies of a difficulty appropriate to the level of access to these studies.
- Part B: in the analysis of a work or musical fragment proposed by the court.
- Part C: on sight reading.
Interpretation specialty, jazz itinerary
The test will consist of:
- Part A: in the interpretation of a program, it will be an essential requirement that the applicant improvise in each of them. The repertoire to be performed in part A of the entrance exam will consist of five themes framed within the standard jazz repertoire, showing among them formal, stylistic variety and in the choice of execution tempos.
- Part B: in the analysis of a work or musical fragment at the proposal of the court, adding content typical of jazz analysis.
- Part C: in sight reading and improvisation of a jazz work or fragment.
Specialty in Musicology
The test will consist of:
- Part A: in the historical-stylistic analysis and defense of a work or fragment proposed by the court.
- Part B: in the realization of a text commentary or written work at the proposal of the court.
- Part C: in the interpretation in the main instrument (or voice, in the case of singing), up to fifteen minutes, of the works determined by the court from a list previously presented by him/her. the candidate.
Pedagogy specialty. General itinerary and musical language
The test will consist of:
- Part A: in the interpretation in the main instrument (or voice, in the case of singing), up to fifteen minutes, of the works determined by the court from a list previously presented by him/her. the candidate The choice of the main instrument will be subject to the offer of the itineraries of each center.
- Part B: in the individual vocal test.
- Part C: in the composition of a short piece, of a didactic nature, on a melody or a text proposed by the court. The applicant must make a didactic defense of their application.
