Marina Penas Chaves was born in Vilagarcía de Arousa (Pontevedra). In 2014 he obtained with honors the Higher Degree in Music in the specialty of Pedagogy of Language and Musical Teaching at the CSM of Vigo. One year later, in the same educational center, finishes with outstanding the Superior Degree of Music in the Singing specialty. He takes numerous courses in Musical Didactics and Musical Language with Jos Wuytack, Violeta Hemsy de Gaínza, Emilio Molina, Anna Alegre Vals or Lola Bosom among others. Receive classes from prestigious singing teachers, highlighting Montserrat Caballé, Mariella Devia, Carlos Álvarez, Alicia Nafé, Giacomo Prestia, Lorena Valero or Roberto Accurso; and takes courses with great repertoirers, highlighting Ricardo Estrada, Manuel Burgueras or Carlos César Rodríguez.

In 2015 he won the Second Honorable Mention for Musical Excellence from the Xunta de Galicia and publishes his first album entitled Cantos da Terra. In April 2017 he participated in the Cycle Novos Talentos Musicais 2017 organized by Compostela Sound and the culture area of the University of Santiago de Compostela. She made her national debut in opera in 2016 with the character Anna de Nabucco at the Theater Foundation of Vigo in the lyrical season of Vigo. Later he plays the roles of Countess of Ceprano and Giovanna de Rigoletto (2017), the Lady of Lady Macbeth de Macbeth (2018) and Berta from Il Barbieri di Siviglia (2019). Performs various zarzuelas highlighting the roles of Cantaora in La Verbena de la Paloma (2020), Rosa in Los Carnations and Paloma in El Barberillo de Lavapiés. He has performed as a soloist La Petite Rossini’s Messe Solennelle, Mozart’s Requiem in D minor, the Coronation Mass by Mozart and the children’s opera show The Ghost Ship co-produced by the Oviedo. He has been the protagonist of the musical Balansiyyà by maestro José Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, which has traveled a good part of the Galician and Alicante geography. Too a collaborated with numerous music bands in concert of opera, zarzuela, bands sound and Galician music, recording several discs.
